This project involves the nursing informatics technology that focuses on patient data and its impacts on patient outcomes. Basically, a patient documentation tool is considered to be an important addition to the nursing practice because it enhances evaluation of patient care and safety. Patient documentation simply maximizes efficiency by enabling the nursing staff to carry out different data-driven practices such as data recovery, imaging and patient care among others. The project identifies various standards of the patient documentation tool as a key integration of information technology in the nursing profession. Generally, nursing informatics will help in the enhancement of data communication and patient management across the clinical nursing spectrum.
Patient care technology is increasingly becoming complex hence making the delivery of patient care more difficult. For this reason, this project proposes the documentation tool for the nursing organization in order to enhance their decision-making processes and problem-solving efficiency. Patient documentation requires an experiential-reflective reasoning model that helps nurses to make clear considerations of the best care for patients. This project reflects on the articulated concerns surrounding the direct care nursing and provides recommendations for preventing potential errors in nursing informatics. Basically, a conceptual framework of the proposed technology will help nursing practice to examine the long- and short-term outcomes of patient care (Lavin et al, 2015). This is made possible through the assistive documentation tool that integrates information science and nursing informatics to enhance nursing duties. This project focuses on the key competencies of the nursing informatics by determining the informatics knowledge and technological skills of nurses within the organization.
This project reflects on the work of the nursing practice committee of the organization. It mainly involves the identification of the key areas of interests for the direct care nurses. Hence, it articulates the major concerns that are associated with the general nursing audience. To be specific, the project is expected to improve the participation of the all the nurses, information technology vendors, who have to take their place when nursing informatics decisions are made. A general view of the project deliveries also echoes the committee reflections on the need for improving patient documentation for the purpose of achieving better patient outcomes. Therefore, the proposed project offers reports on the categorical reflections of nursing practice members who are primarily nursing managers, nursing practitioners and other nursing informatics experts within the organization. The project application provides a clear view of the nursing practitioners committee and nurses’ views in regards to the concerns surrounding patient documentation.
