Safe Staffing Levels
Working conditions in hospitals have proved to frustrate individuals in the nursing profession, and this issue has motivated a lot of research into the issue. Due to the significant role played by nurses in ensuring effective and safe care delivery, the safe staffing level issues stirs interest in obtaining more information on the topic. The wellbeing and value of inpatient care are worsening as a result of nurses spending less time on a single patient due to increasing patients. From the article, a comparison of all levels of staffing by nurses in different hospitals is obtained when the number of working hours of the nurses is observed carefully (Needleman, Buerhaus, Mattke, Stewart, & Zelevinsky, 2002).
Staffing of nurses’ play a critical role in ensuring the quality of service is rendered to patients. Insufficient staffing jeopardizes patients and pushes nurses away from their profession, while sufficient nurse staffing is the key to quality patient care and nurses’ custody (Clarke & Donaldson, 2017). As a nurse, I will offer safe practices to avoid complication and errors of care as an element of or precondition of delivering high-quality care. Ensuring sufficient monitoring of patients reduces the number of deaths and injuries associated with neglect.
Technology in the Health Care Benefit, Limitations, and Challenges
In an environment of increasing regulation, increasing cost, and direct competition, healthcare faces major challenges in their mission to provide efficient, safe and affordable services to patients. It creates the need to know how quality health care services are rooted in the paradigm of health information technology. From the article by Chaudhry et al. (2006), it is evident that health information technology has a great effect on quality care, focusing on increasing adherence to guideline and protocol-based care. Outpatient setting is more frequent examined using electronic health records systems (Chaudhry, et al., 2006).
