As such, you will be asked to devise your own research question, to use the empirical literature to identify knowledge gaps in the field with regard to that research question, formulate a corresponding research hypothesis, propose an appropriate study design for testing that research hypothesis, and devise a sampling and recruitment plan to strengthen the generalizability of your study's findings. In Module 5, you will upload a final paper consisting of all of these elements. Your Task for this Assignment After reading the background materials for this module, select one of the following research topics and derive a corresponding research question. This results in high levels of sugar in the blood, leading to high pressure and cardiovascular complications.
However, there is a third aspect of type 2 diabetes that has not received as much focus as the influence of insulin- pregnancy-related gestational diabetes in women (Buchanan, et al., 2007). In the United States alone, over 12 million women are affected by Type 2 Diabetes (Diabetes Sisters, 2012). Pregnancy has been identified as one of the major factors in T2D among adult women. Gestational pregnancy, a rise in high blood sugar that is triggered by pregnancy, affects about 18 percent of all pregnancies among American women. Out of these cases, 10 percents results in Type 2 Diabetes.
Research studies also show that pregnancy-related gestational diabetes has a high recurrence likelihood in subsequent pregnancies, and increases chances of developing T2D by between 35-60 percent within the next 10 to 20 years (Getahun, Fassett, & Jacobsen, 2009). In this regard, it is of clinic...
