Pregnancy is the period of time when a fetus develops inside a woman's uterus and ends with the birth of the infant. The tests and diagnostics provide useful information from the time pregnancy is first considered through the initial days of the newborn's life.
Discuss the most common screening test and diagnostics used throughout pregnancy and the purpose of the tests. When during pregnancy are tests performed and what is the protocol when an abnormal test or diagnostic is found?

Pregnancy Screening and Diagnostic Tests
Screening and diagnostic tests during pregnancy are crucial procedures performed on pregnant women to detect any pregnant-related complications. A health care provider conducts these procedures-which are usually non-invasive, during the first and second trimester, although some are necessary during the third trimester (Crovetto et al., 2016). Doctors perform these screening tests to determine the probability of pregnancy-related complications, and when the results are positive, the diagnostic test will provide the remedy for the problems identified.
