As a vital practice in the life of any nurse or physician, ethical considerations should be instilled in future practitioners still undertaking their studies in medical schools. A healthcare professional without ethics can use unscrupulous practices such as overcharging clients, using unprofessional language, and showing impatience.
I noticed that there are several professional domains that are considered the center of professional practice in healthcare. They include; responsibility and honesty. Responsibility calls for an obligation for nurses to perform their professional duties with keenness. It also calls on nurses to be answerable for decisions they make while treating their patients. On the other hand, honesty protects a nurse’s reputation and moral character.
During my practicum, I discovered that one needs personal strengths such as good communication skills and empathy in the nursing profession. Good communication skills are helpful, especially when breaking the test results done on a patient (Rawlings et al., 2019).
