Introduction.
All healthcare practitioners all over the world solemnly require certification as it is part of their service delivery, practices and career. In order to obtain certification, the healthcare practitioners have only one choice which is through the American Credentialing Center (ANCC) as it offers an individual with board certification which lasts throughout their lives. This paper seeks to research the process of attainment of certification by describing the PMHNP practice for my home state, comparing the practices with other neighboring states and the considerations made in the issuance of the certification credentials as well as outlining a checklist for passing the national certification exams.
PMHNP practice environment for my home state.
For the state of Texas, in the section of prescriptive authority, the law requires that a healthcare practitioner hand in a separate application, a written prescriptive delegation approved by a supervising physician. There is also a mandatory requirement of controlled substances registered by the DEA as well as a registration with TX Department of Public Safety (Boyer, Rice, Sorrell and Spurling, 2019). Further, the Board of Nursing for the state is the TX Board of Nursing while the Practice Act is under the TX Nursing Practice Act. Finally, the details and resources is that Texas recently omitted the obligation of on-site physician supervision.
Comparison of PMHNP practice between Texas and Florida.
Under the segment of Prescriptive Authority, Texas requires a written delegation signed by a supervising physician whereas Florida requires supervision by a surgeon.
The Board of Nursing for Texas is the TX Board of Nursing while in Florida; it is the FL Board of Nursing (Gingerich, 2018).
The TX Practice Act runs the practice act for Texas whereas the FL Nurse Practice Act supervises that of Florida.
The Details and Resources for Texas is that the state has eliminated the requirement of on-site physician supervision while in Florida, nurse practitioners are guaranteed insurance and an exemption in case of malpractice.
