Healthcare practitioners have significantly improved the approaches used for delivering care to ensure that it remains patient-centered. Changes in health perspectives have transformed care processes to ensure that they start with the patient’s needs and wishes rather than the satisfaction of facility-based metrics. In this concept, experts strive to adhere to principles of ensuring care remains culturally sensitive and upholding the integrity of human dignity for all patients.
Caring for individuals with impaired autonomy and those approaching their end of life has presented a significant challenge in maintaining these two concepts. Brooks et al.
