A sexual response can be described as the body changes triggered by emotions when engaged in sexual activity. A Male's sexual response is described in four phases desire, arousal, orgasm, and resolution.
Desire
Both females and males have the ability to experience the four phases; however, the timing is always varied. Desire is the first phase in sexual response for males, and it can last for few minutes or take hours. Muscle tension is the most typical characteristic in the first phase. Notably, muscle tension usually determines the overall body response in the other three phases. The tension in muscles prepares the body, which increases blood pressure. At this point, blood passes through to the penis, making it erect. Moreover, the male's testicles become swollen due to tension and blood pressure. At this point, the scrotum releases the lubricating fluids essential in sex (Everaerd, 2015).
