Personal Worldview
A personal worldview and its articulation are critical in formulating the philosophy of personal nursing practice. I utilize my worldview in having an influence on patients and the entire healthcare industry. Personal worldviews have numerous aspects that guide individuals' lives and help them understand healthcare perspectives. Besides, they guide people's moral beliefs, decisions, and ethics. Based on the various components, nurses can integrate spiritual, religious, and cultural opportunities in the process of responding to challenges and opportunities. My worldview informs the approach to patient care situations while directing my ideas and principles in care provision to the community members.
My worldview as a nurse is based on my Christian faith and religious belief. According to Christianity teachings, nursing is a calling, and the professionals are committed to serving the community members. The wholeness and healing of individuals in pain from various conditions are the significant concerns of nursing. According to Schaffer et al. (2017), nursing is based on the obligation and duty of applying acquired insight to relieve other individuals from any form of pain or distress. Nurses should take care of patients by dedicating themselves to improve their quality of life. Therefore, the professionals should be selfless and show intrinsic inspiration to serving others. Nurses are aligned right from the education process to appreciate and demonstrate a character shift for enhanced professional and clinical practice.
Nurses experience complex situations in the dedication of delivering care to the increasingly diverse population of patients. Therefore, nurses' perception of patients is critical in enhancing the wellbeing of the community members. In my opinion, nurses should ensure that they attain personal growth in providing holistic care to patients (Schaffer et al., 2017). I acknowledge Christian practices with a core objective of improving care outcomes for the patients. I believe that nursing entails a caring process in which the professionals utilize their knowledge to meet the needs of all patients. Equally, I think that care provision entails considering patient's whole being, including factors that influence their recovery and response to care. To grow in the nursing art, a nurse should address personal weaknesses to facilitate personal growth while addressing other individuals' issues.
Nursing Theory That Reinforces Nursing Care
Watson's nursing theory is the selected model that aligns with my practice philosophy and approach towards addressing the needs of patients. The theorist reaffirms that nursing care is likely to outspread beyond human contact and centers on a patient's soul. According to the theory, a nurse gets to a patient's living space and detects her condition spiritually in the process of taking care of the individuals in need (Younas & Quennell, 2019). In such a case, a nurse develops an attachment with patients at a deep level spiritually. The theory centers on a holistic approach to care as opposed to a pathology and treatment plan. According to Watson, an illness can persist even if a cond...
