Introduction
Inhalers for patients with asthma always provide the best delivery route when it comes to treating both the non-pulmonary and pulmonary conditions in patients. Delivering medications through inhalation requires smaller doses enabling a rapid onset of drug action and a reduction of the systematic effect. The situation is even worse for bronchial asthma patients due to the contamination of the air and other forms of environmental engagement. For this reason, it is always important for these patients to walk around with a breathing aid or a quick relief aid that will enable them continue with their daily activities (Fayaz, Sultan, & Rai, 2009). This paper discusses the effects of MDI treatment for patients with asthma and how it is better than other forms of asthmatic treatment.
Problem with MDI Treatment for Asthmatic children
As much as MDI treatment is found to be effective, there are concerns about the end results for patients. In addition, the MDIs have been found to contain propellants and chlorofluorocarbons which are hard to eliminate. This may lead to health and environmental problems which is derived from the depletion of clean air. It is also argued that these inhalers come with a lot of lung sensitivity and cardio toxicity due to long use (Reznik, Silver, & Cao, 2014). The MDIs also do not show patients who are not able to generate the recommended inspiratory flow rate. This is different from spacers and nebulizers.
Impact of Treatment
For most families with patients suffering from asthma, the use of inhalers enables these patients to go about their normal growth and work among other daily activities. These inhalers have provided them with the freedom to lead a fulfilling live even under the condition.
