Online learning is gaining popularity among students all over the world. The preferable method is both cheap in terms of time and cost and it is flexible too. It is flexible and an individual has the ability to study at his/her time. According to Stelnicki & Saklofske (2015, p.215) this flexibility, however, can result in procrastination and in other cases failing to study at all leading to poor grades or dropping out. A major factor in online learning is self-discipline. However, one needs to take note of time management, planning, communication, and technology as they influence the processes.
Planning: online learning involves the ability to direct one’s own education and the willingness. According to Zimmerman (1990, p.4) one needs to plan on the best way to achieve the best out of the experience. When one has a plan, it becomes easier to function. Planning will include setting specific goals to achieve this could be to finish 2 chapters daily or take 1 assessment test daily etc.
