Personal Reflection
Nursing is all about teamwork and collaborative relationships. I emphasize forming collaborative partnerships with families, children, and community groups to foster health initiatives and meet health-related goals. Further, teamwork and collaboration enhance easier communication and efficient patient treatment in healthcare and with families. During the simulation, I realized it is important for a nurse to establish strategies for parents and families to collaborate. For instance, encouraging two-way communication between a parent and the child, encouraging parents to give a listening ear to their children and communicate with the nurse, and educating families on social and emotional skills.
Also, I learned effective team and collaboration skills in an organization. This was through active participation and role-playing by completing the assigned tasks. In addition, everyone was aware of their duties during the simulation and finished them in the speculated time ( Regis College,2021). So far, I have learned prioritization, teamwork, supporting each other as a team, and how organization and communication play a significant role in the partnership to give high-quality care to my patient.
