The nursing and the entire medical field is always dependent on the quality of service offered by the professionals. This is to some extent determined by the competence of these professionals, based on their level of technical and academic qualifications. A research was done by Mary Blegen,Colleen Goode and Shin Park in 2013 entitled Baccalaureate Education in Nursing and Patient Outcomes, whose aim was to try and links patient safety outcomes to ADN and BSN nurses. The objectives of the research was to find out whether the nurse-dependent patient outcomes were better in hospitals or medical institutions that were more staffed with RNs who had baccalaureate degrees.
