Introduction
Healthcare practitioners must function in a changing and complex healthcare systems and should possess a thorough understand of the essential skills in their practice. This also calls for a continuous refreshing and updating of knowledge and skills, and solving complex patient healthcare problems. Upcoming health practitioners should therefore possess the capabilities of learning and embracing all the essential skills that ensures competency in the practice of health care.
Throughout this course, I have improved my knowledge, skills and abilities as well as myself in several ways. For instant, I have come to embrace the definition of health as the state of complete physical, social and mental wellbeing and not necessarily the absence of disease or infirmity. I have broadened my knowledge on understanding the scientific and medical texts in relation to cultural, social and political aspects. I have also learnt to identify the key social determinants of health in a variety of historical and contemporary contexts. In addition, I have gained a lot of knowledge concerning the interplay of various factors that have led to particular health outcomes and policies. Similarly, I have learnt to integrate methods from anthropology, sociology, history as well as from other disciplines in empirical assessments of different populations, communities, and policy interventions on multiple levels. ...
