potential recommendations to address the nursing clinical PICOT question.
1) Select a national guideline by searching the following sites: National Clearinghouse @ guidelines.gov, the Joanna Briggs Institute, or the Registered Nurse Association of Ontario (www(dot)rnao(dot)ca). Then, select a local guideline from a location organization for Policy and Procedure related to the same problem. State the titles of the 2 guidelines.
2) From the national guideline, identify two – three recommendations that are applicable to a clinical area.
3) Compare the national and local guidelines and review of the national recommendations are included in the local guideline (1 to 2 paragraphs)
4) Discuss how these recommendations pertain to your nursing clinical PICOT question and give the strength of evidence for each recommendation.
5) Discuss any impact these changes may have on your practice or the field of nursing and how you may initiate change furnished with the knowledge from the national guideline.

Likewise, bariatric surgery is an effective treatment alternative in reducing body weight for obese people (Coen et al., 2018). Among the numerous treatment plans for obesity, bariatric surgeries such as sleeve gastrectomy, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass are the most effective weight-loss strategies and increasing functional capabilities (Cheng et al. 2016). For diabetes patients, bariatric surgery plays a vital role in reducing weight, refining insulin sensitivity, and diabetes remission (Coen et al., 2018). After surgery, glycemic control is reinstated through enforced caloric restriction, improved insulin sensitivity, and enhanced insulin secretion.
Bariatric surgery is gaining popularity across the world, particularly in high-income countries. The waiting lists of patients demanding surgery are increasing very fast, outweighing the healthcare systems' capacities (Whitty et al., 2015). Thus said, bariatric surgery focuses on reducing food intake and absorption of food in the stomach and intestines. The surgery entails adjustments of digestive systems to restrict diet intakes into the body. Although not all patients achieve the desired clinical outcomes even after successful surgery, evidence shows that bariatric surgery lowers death rates, particularly when combined with lifestyle changes and healthy eating (Coen et al., 2018).
