The most prevalent name for the specialty is medical informatics. Health informatics and biomedical and health informatics are not very common. Medical informatics is preferable since it applies to medical applications rather than using "bio," suggesting limited medical field application. The development of computer applications over the years has been critical in supporting researchers and clinicians and a complex field of biomedicine (Vamathevan & Birney, 2017). Medical informatics was initially used to apply to different sub-disciplines in computing and the methods of using and organizing information techniques and principles in biomedical research and clinical care.
