At my organization, there is a string emphasis on the importance of having string mission and vision statements that resonate with the organization’s values, principles, and objectives. Because of this, there has been a deliberate effort to ensure that the mission and vision statements provided are in line with the goals of the organization. The same can be said of the values the organization cherishes and how they can influence the manner in which people function at the workplace. At my organization, the mission and vision is to become a leading patient-centered and family-centered practice across the region. In order to realize these goals, the organization believes in the values of integrity, mutual respect, a culture of teamwork, excellence, and compassion. These values are fundamental towards shaping the manner in which people function (Williams, Perillo, & Brown, 2015). In the field of healthcare, these are core values that contribute not only towards practitioner satisfaction, but also patient satisfaction. This forms an integral part of my organization and critically influences every other operational aspect within the organization.
It must also be said that my organization, much like any other, has both support and opposition among the staff members. While there are staff members that will perennially seek to oppose any propositions made with the aim of changing and optimizing operations, I must admit that the vast majority of these members are string believers in the mission and vision put forth by the organization (Kalb et al., 2015). Being a first level trauma center, patient-centered care is of the utmost importance and continually influences the degree of patient satisfaction attained.
