Continue analyzing the situation your case study’s healthcare organization faces. Emanuel Medical Centre is one of the medical institutions that provides healthcare services to patients drawn from different parts of the world. The health facility has been in the limelight due to the poor services offered to patients. There are cases of patients who are unattended. There is also a shortage of staff members and the necessary tools to provide services to patients such as the beds and medical treatment equipment.
In this milestone, you will continue to evaluate the impact of the mission and vision of the healthcare organization’s strategic plan. Emanuel Medical Center is a health medical care institution founded in 1917. It is situated in Turlock, California. It was established to serve the community’s medical needs regardless of their ethical, religious or social background (Jones, Finkler, & Kovner, 2012). Being a Christian set institution, the Emanuel Medical Center focuses on creating a healthier community which is the mission of this hospital. The vision is to enhance care of the whole community. The institution believes in the pursuit of justice in terms of treatment, an assertion of life as well as collaborating well with the community so as to meet set goals. The Emanuel Medical center is purposed to provide an excellent customer service by implementing a performance enhancement measures that will continually lead to their patient satisfaction. The organization has long-term employees who work in a close-knit environment (Hess, MacIntyre, Galvin, & Mishoe, 2015).
Following Halley Eckman incidence, a patient treated at Emanuel Medical Centre; there was a negative insight about the institution. The emergency department was at a greater pressure to ensure a delivery of quality services to their clients after the scandal. The Emergency Medical Treatment an Active Labor Act (EMTALA) stated that the emergency medical department was open to all, regardless of whether one had the ability to pay for the for the services (Hess, MacIntyre, Galvin, & Mishoe, 2015). Halley Eckman had to wait for a longer period before she was treated due to lack of enough hospital bed. Additionally, she had been diagnosed with stomach flu, which was later discovered to be a urinary tract infection at the Memorial Medical Centre in California. After conducting an investigation, the Health Services Department concluded that Emergency department did not follow proper procedures. The staff too did not act in a respectful and considerate manner.
