 Various forces affect the healthcare industry, including regulations, demographics, and changes in the insurance industry, cost-sharing, digital transformation, nurse shortage, and demographics. In addition, access to health care services depends on location, socioeconomic status, and education, affecting whether people access quality health care. As a result, there is a focus on healthcare reforms, digital transformation, and cost-sharing as the major forces influencing healthcare. 
Major Forces
 Healthcare policies and regulations remain one of the major forces as they influence. Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act of 2010, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 are some of the important regulations in the US health care that influence the provision of health services. In addition, there are rules, laws, and regulations protecting the public and regulating how health care practitioners practice. The healthcare workers must understand regulations and requirements that influence The Affordable Care Act of 2010, one of the healthcare reforms that have profoundly impacted the health care industry.
 Healthcare digital transformation has also been impactful as some innovations and disruptions affect the industry. More health technology start-ups are entering the healthcare industry innovating. Thus, there is more focus on patient-focused healthcare where patients participate in the health care process in an environment where there is digitized and technological healthcare (Hermes et al., 2020). Healthcare digital transformation should be linked to improve healthcare quality and safety.
