Introduction
Various myths exist regarding the negative effects of immunization and the connections to the development of conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). However, several studies oppose such kinds of mythologies and propose approaches to improve pediatric immunization for various conditions. His literature review focuses on articles that cover some of the mythologies and the intervention strategies proposed in the same regard.

Davidson (2017) notes the lack of curative treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The study also notes the current trends and attempts at explaining the actual causes and etiology of the condition and finding solutions. The study goes on to identify some myths and non-scientific beliefs regarding the condition that emerge regularly. The most common myth, according to Davidson (2017), in the belief that the condition is as a result of mercury contamination and explores the administration of mercury-chelating agents and their outcomes. The study also aimed at revealing the effects of various vaccines administered to children at a tender age, and their connections with the onset of ASD. The study gathered its findings from various research journals conducted in the past. One of the myths negatively affecting the management of ASD is the belief that it results from vaccinations. The main limitation of the study was that there are few people with children suffering from the condition who come out openly, making the research on the condition insufficient. Some parents avoid vaccinating their children, exposing them to preventable diseases.
Li et al., 2016 conducted a study on the relationships between obesity and diabetes, and their prevalence amongst expectant women in the United States. The study aimed at observing how the two conditions are likely to contribute to the development of ASD before and at the onset of pregnancy. The study widened its scope to other developmental disorders too. The study was conducted on 2,734 children who completed at least a single postnatal visit at the Boston Medical Center. Amongst the children, there were 102 cases of ASD. The study population visited the facility between 1998 and 2014. The study found out that obesity and diabetes conditions before pregnancy were related to the development of ASD. The main limitations for the study includes misclassification errors caused by either incomplete diagnosis or misdiagnosis. The study proposed a study of a larger population in future to help test the likely interactions of the two conditions with ASD.
Tran et al., (2021) conducted a study on the practices involved in Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) pediatric immunization. According to the study, children with NS experience immunological effects originating from the condition. This aspect makes them prone to vaccine preventable infections. Such patients often receive immunosuppressive treatments that may compromise their immune systems, further exposing them to risks from such infections.
