A DNP program prepares nurses with the highest level of clinical nursing knowledge. The program integrates practice-based preparation with clinical applications. The goal of the DNP is to elevate the nursing practice and improve patient care. Ethics in nursing practice is a key component of the program. My greatest area of learning in this Ethics course is how to evaluate effective strategies for managing ethical dilemmas. The important steps in this process include identifying the ethical issue, identifying alternative courses of action, and using ethical reasoning to decide on a course of action. By using these, steps, I feel confident in my ability to continuously manage ethical dilemmas.
I feel that I need further development in my ability to critically analyze health policy proposals from the perspective of consumers, health professionals in policy and public forums. In doing this, I will need to analyze healthcare policies from the political dimensions of public policies. Improving upon this skill will require continuous learning and application of these principles.

My DNP project will provide me with the ability to integrate skills learned into practice. This will demonstrate the application of key principles that the DNP program is composed of. Nursing practice scholarship is guided by core competencies delineated in the AACN’s eight DNP Essentials (AACN, 2019).
An intervention, program, policy, or quality improvement project is the focal point for DNP Projects. My DNP project focuses on burnout among nurses which will promote improvement or change related to the health of individuals, populations, and healthcare systems as a whole.
