Iron and vitamin C are essential to health and vitamin C promotes iron absorption and vitamin C supplementation is one strategy to help the body absorb iron. Iron deficiency anemia is a disorder likely to occur when there is a low intake of iron and vitamin C. Iron is needed to produce red blood cells (RBCs) and iron deficiency anemia is common when there are low levels of iron or iron depletion including iron-poor diets and excessive bleeding. 
What diet recommendations could you make to a patient with this deficiency disorder?
Liver, red meat, pork and poultry, shellfish and seafood, legumes such as beans, peas, and soybeans, and dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach have high iron nutrient levels. Vitamin C is mainly found in fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits as well as strawberries, peppers, and broccoli. Increased consumption of fruits and vegetables is necessary to increase vitamin C. As such, I would recommend the consumption of liver, legumes, green vegetables, and iron-fortified cereals to deal with iron deficiency. I would also supplement the diet with vitamin C. 
Iron is a mineral present in all cells of the body and that performs many vital functions Iron is an important part of red blood cells, and without this mineral, the blood cannot effectively carry oxygen. The egg yolk has iron, calcium and phosphorus. A varied and balanced diet can improve and even reverse the situation without the need for drug treatment.
