Coronary Heart Disease: Medical or Surgical Nursing Assignment

Essay Instructions:

In one to two pages provide your best approach for handling the following situation.
Dr. Byrd, the chief of cardiology of a large group practice, has been charged with the responsibility of evaluating coronary artery surgery procedures. His first task was to evaluate the outcomes of patients who had undergone single-vessel bypass surgery. His studies compared those patients with similar heart conditions who were treated medically versus those who have been treated surgically with the bypass procedure. He looked at the outcomes over a period of 6 months, one year, and two years and found little difference in the morbidity and mortality between the two groups of patients. Further study indicated little difference in the quality of life between the groups. How should Dr. Byrd present this information to the surgeons?

Coronary Heart Disease: Medical or Surgical

After this brief explanation, Dr. Byrd shall now give details regarding his expected outcomes before he conducted the study. It could either be that those who have undergone surgical bypass procedure haму a lower morbidity and mortality rate or it could also be the other way around. Whatever the hypotheses of Dr. Byrd were, they should be discussed with the surgeons to further emphasize on the results of the observation.
Once done with the explanation of the hypothesis, Dr. Byrd shall now discuss the methodologies and procedures he used to conduct the study. He shall also give a brief explanation on how the two processes are conducted for the group to see the difference between the two. Furthermore, he shall also explain how the two processes work in order to heal and treat coronary heart diseases.
In the natural way, or sometimes called medication, there is what we call nowadays as proper diet and exercise. To be able to combat coronary heart diseases, one mu...
