1. Children are different from adults in numerous cardiovascular, pulmonary, and muscular systems performance attributes. Considering cardiovascular systems, children can increase the volume of blood that is pumped with every heartbeat compared to their age and size. But, their blood lacks the same capability of carrying oxygen like adults. This means even with the volume of blood pumped increases, the oxygen level does not grow much. While exercising, blood controls the level of oxygen that is moved around the body. This can be changed by changing the heart rate or the volume of blood pumped in every heartbeat. While resting, children possess a high heart rate compared to adults but rely less on the volume of blood in every heartbeat owing to their small hearts. The heartbeat increases when they are exercising but the volume of blood pumped increases slightly. While an adult is exercising, their heart rate increases less compared to a child’s.
Considering the pulmonary systems, breathing rates for adults ranges from 10-15 times in 60 seconds. Other adults breathe less while others more based on activity and health levels. Looking at children, they breathe much fast owing to the little space they have to exchange carbon dioxide and oxygen in their lungs.
Lastly, Children are different from adults in numerous muscular performance characteristics like recovery from exhaustive exercise, fatigability, endurance, power, and size-normalized strength among others (Dotan, et al., 2012). Metabolic features like VO2 kinetics, substrate utilization, and glycolytic capacity are very differ...
