Implementation Plan for the EBP Project

Essay Instructions:

In 1,250-1,500 words, discuss the implementation plan for your evidence-based practice project proposal. When required, create the appropriate form, table, image, or graph to fully illustrate that aspect of the intervention plan and include them in an appendix of your paper.
Include the following:
Describe the setting and access to potential subjects. If there is a need for a consent or approval form, then one must be created. Include a draft of the form as an appendix at the end of your paper.
Create a timeline. Make sure the timeline is general enough that it can be implemented at any date. Based on the timeline you created, describe the amount of time needed to complete this project. Include a draft of the timeline as an appendix at the end of your paper.
Develop a budget and resource list. Consider the clinical tools or process changes that would need to take place. Based on the budget and resource list you developed: (a) describe the resources (human, fiscal, and other) or changes needed in the implementation of the solution; (b) outline the costs for personnel, consumable supplies, equipment (if not provided by the institute), computer-related costs (librarian consultation, database access, etc.), and other costs (travel, presentation development). Include a draft of the budget and resource list as an appendix at the end of your paper.
Explain whether you would select a qualitative or quantitative design to collect data and evaluate the effectiveness of your evidence-based practice project proposal. Provide rationale to support your selection.
Describe the methods and instruments (questionnaire, scale, or test) to be used for monitoring the implementation of the proposed solution. Include the method or instrument as an appendix at the end of your paper.
Explain the process for delivering the intervention and indicate if any training will be needed.
Discuss the stakeholders that are needed to implement the plan.
Consider all of the aspects of your implementation plan and discuss potential barriers or challenges to the plan. Propose strategies for overcoming these.
Establish the feasibility of the implementation plan.

Implementation Plan for the EBP Project
Description of the Setting
Baltimore, Maryland, is the target for this project. Miami has a population of 1.8 million individuals. The choice for Baltimore in this project is to address the breast cancer issue among African American women who form a significant portion of the population. At least 31.1% of Maryland’s population consists of African Americans. Since 1990, cases of breast cancer have consistently reduced in Maryland. However, Maryland still has a range of between 195 and 270 breast cancer cases per 100,000 population in different counties. This number is higher than the national average that stands at 108 per 100,000 population (American Cancer Society, 2021). In analyzing cases per demographic segment, African American women stand at a higher risk of contracting breast cancer and dealing with associated impacts. Their number stood at 255 per 100,000 population between 2016 and 2018. With such a high prevalence index, Baltimore becomes the undisputed target for the project for a reason such as the ease of meeting targeted individuals.
Project Timeline
The project is poised to be conducted in 4 months. The first month will mark the project formulation stage. At the formulation stage, the project managers must assess the project location. The primary task at the formulation stage is to set the objectives for the project (Moran, 2019). The project must be guided with specific, measurable, attainable, reliable, and time-bound goals and objectives before it is offset. There is also a need to interact with the stakeholders to define the scope of their participation in the project as well as their roles. The project intends to accord the stakeholders partaking in the project a 3-week duration to assess the project in terms of the location, needed resources, available resources, and the execution plan. Adjustments in the project architecture, including aspects such as changes in the stakeholder roles, the venue, or the number of participants, can be addressed at the primary stage of project formulation.
The second stage that should take two months will be the execution of the project. At the execution stage, the actual project is undertaken with the targeted population directly involved in the protracted culturally-sensitive nurse-led psychoeducational intervention. As noted, the intervention will encompass educational strategies to educate patients about breast cancer upon diagnosis to help prepare them on what to expect as part of cancer treatment plus any other areas of concern they may have. The intervention will also teach patients relaxation skills to help them deal with distress and anxiety. The intervention will be culturally responsive to the cultural values and beliefs of African-Americans. Using a culturally sensitive approach in the intervention can help address health disparities and improve health equity.
The final stage (1 month) will accommodate the evaluation and appraisal of the project. At the onset of the project, some objectives were set. For instance, there is a primary and secondary expected outcome for the intervention. The primary outcomes are low di...
