In research, a hypothesis is a proposed explanation or supposition made based on limited evidence about a phenomenon or issue that needs to be investigated. It is a starting point for further investigation (Shreffler & Huecker, 2021). Therefore, hypothesis testing involves comparing the hypothesis with the null hypothesis. In essence, a null hypothesis is only rejected when its probability falls below a pre-conceived significance level.
