This is an interesting topic. People might think patients are the only people carrying the HIV virus. On the contrary, this is not true. Doctors and caregivers can also be infected with the HIV virus. This is something that has never come across the minds of most people. Doctors and caregivers need to disclose their HIV status to the patients. Patients have the right to know the health condition of the caregivers for them to make informed decisions. Everyone has the right to know about it.
Although the risk of transmission is minimal, letting the patients know is critical. In the past few years, there have been few transmission of HIV from health care workers to their patients.
