The modern Western worldview and the postmodern worldview both hinge on aspects of truth and they possess a practical point of view. However, these worldviews if studied in a deeper sense portray quite different aspects of belief and logic. The modern worldview developed as a result of the human mind concerning itself with the truth (Hatch & Cunliffe, 2012). In this worldview a similarity in the description of certain phenomena in association with science is evident. For instance, if all other factors remain constant, it is safe to deduce that water will boil at the same temperature regardless of the culture, geographical or religious position of the person who is boiling it. The modern Western worldview plays a major role in the establishment and development of empirical science. Another characteristic of this worldview is evident in how it seeks to relate or argue against the connection between deism and modern science. Even when people differ in opinion about how the Scriptures have a scientific connection with the universe, science is used as a basis for comparison by both parties (Hanlon et al., 2012). Still, the element of an existent and evident ‘truth’ is conspicuous in the modern Western worldview.
