Gym Equipment Home Application
Some of the leading gym equipment I have at home include a yoga mat, dumbbell set, stationary bicycle, barbell set, and resistance and balance trainers. The choice of these pieces of equipment was motivated by the different number of exercises each can promote and the ability to have variations for each of the exercises’ difficulty levels. Further, the five equipment are essential because they involve exercises that cover, if not all, a more significant part of the body muscle and dynamic systems involving sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes of motion. Table 1 in the Appendix section classifies the identified exercises based on the three planes of motion. Lastly, the equipment occupies minimum space and can be kept at home for home-based purposes of fitness and weight management.
Yoga Mat
While a yoga mat is mainly used for stretches, meditation, and yoga sessions, it also supports numerous exercises, including basic dynamic and static stretches. Yoga mats can support bodyweight exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, and dynamic planks. Planks’ difficulty can be varied by increasing or decreasing the time spent in action. Push-up and sit-up difficulties can be varied by increasing or decreasing the number of repetitions in each set.
Dumbbell Set
Dumbbell sets are my favorite home-based gym equipment. They occupy minimum space and provide various exercises, including curls, lateral raise, and overhead press.
