During my final year in my undergraduate studies, the students in my class were divided into three groups that were given different tasks, and we were supposed to present a report after finishing our projects. The main objective of our group was to investigate the safety concern and the impact it has on patients and their families, health organizations, health workers and society as a whole.
The group formation successfully underwent all four stages, including forming, storming, norming and performing. Forming phase involved people coming together and individuals were polite and friendly (Kumar et al., 2014). There was no major conflict observed at this particular stage. The next stage called storming was full of conflicts as some people were not happy about the roles they were given. It was a stage when our group almost collapsed. In particular, I was not happy about the secretary role I was given by the members. Others were not happy about the type of hospitals they were assigned to visit and collect the required data. Nevertheless, we were able to solve our differences and we entered in the third stage referred to as the norming (Wilson, 2010).
