In health information technology (HIT) implementation, there is a need to have a nurse leader to help in the healthcare delivery and explain the deep understanding regarding clinical workflows. Nurses also help to learn about the patient care processes that will aid in the implementation process. Therefore, using the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach will help the nurse leader establish a HIT that aligns effectively with clinical requirements and will be quickly adopted by available healthcare professionals (Strudwick et al., 2019). The nurse leader's role will be to bridge the gap between clinical practice and healthcare technology implementation.
