To enjoy life is to live healthily. This phrase should be everyone's primary goal in life. Everyone should have access to health care facilities and should be assisted by a healthcare assistant. Today, health care institutes are still improving their current health care system to better assist the needs of a much more diverse population. That is why the Institute of Medicine (IOM) has created some changes to solve the current healthcare system issues. In this paper, the author will discuss the influence of the (IOM) report on today's health care nursing practice.
The Future of Nursing
The Institute of Medicine has outlined four messages that extensively focused on making nurses the best they can be; what this means is that nurses should practice their profession to the full extent of their knowledge and abilities. It acts as an addition to their skills that will be useful down the line when choosing to pick other fields of expertise. These new changes in health care systems directly influence newly hired nurses in their first year of being hired and avoid turnovers and changing jobs. For the reason of 35% to 65% of nurses alter their jobs for the first year of being employed, which is a problem that increases the costs of hospitals and other health care facilities. Because hospitals want to save money to better fund other areas of their facilities that are much needed for patient treatments.
Also, with all this benefit being a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) prepared nurse can give an individual a stable and secure job, (1) one benefit is that they can start working with a high number of packages with other benefits (2) they can also be assured that their job is secured, (3) also if their mind changes, they can pursue another career path in the same field of study and lastly (4) they practice in a much more diverse healthcare setting.
