The concept of family health is important because it can expose family medical history, lifestyle, and exercising activities to attain health promotion general objectives. Undoubtedly, we can alleviate disease risks through not smoking, indulging in enough physical activities, and eating a healthy diet. However, one`s family medical history plays a critical role in the probability of developing heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or stroke. Despite sharing genetic makeup that we cannot change, family members also share diets, environments, and lifestyles that might dictate their health status. In order to achieve a healthy lifestyle and avert some potential risky diseases in a family, according to WHO, the health promotion strategies like equipping individuals with personal skills, strengthening community action, and creating supportive environments should be encouraged by health workers as vital elements of health promotion (Selekman, 2006).
