According to medical research, most of the problems associated with eyesight do not have a defined pathology. A majority of the people who visit eye doctors only seek to get eyeglasses. Eyeglasses are standard because they are the easiest way of treating farsightedness or nearsightedness. Problems with eyesight are common among individuals of all ages. However, presbyopia only develops among aging populations who, upon diagnosis, are given reading glasses. Other eye diseases develop with age. These diseases are mainly related to complications such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and atherosclerosis.
