In a health care setting, nurses and other professionals are faced with numerous forms of ethical dilemmas. A common dilemma involves dealing with patients who refuse a certain form of medication or treatment. A patient may refuse a particular kind of treatment due to his/her cultural background. In such a situation, the nurse gets into a dilemma since she has a moral and ethical obligation of prescribing the most appropriate form of treatment that will contribute to the wellbeing of the patient.
