Successful teams consist of team members who are focused on achieving a common goal within a limited time-span. Accordingly, there has to be an effective communication within each team and with interrelated themes. Each member has to be a good team player, have a defined role and demonstrate expertise within the healthcare sector. Given the nature of duties in health insurance, the teams are primarily structured as self-managed ones. Team members regularly meet to address existing challenges and ultimately implement the most suitable solutions available (Berdi & Cynthia, 2012). This is achieved with the guidance of the team-member who has to be good at coordinating and managing the teams. Such independent teams are necessary to the success of the organization since they ensure that targets are achieved within the stipulated periods. This allows for more patients to be attended to and given quality care accordingly. Moreover, through self-managed teams, an organization is able to realize collective brainstorming and eventually achieve excellent decisions.
When leading teams within the various levels of the organization, it is important to consider the communication channel that would be used. The team leader should ensure they pick a communication channel that would adequately serve team members across all levels of the organization. It is also essential to consider the ultimate goal as well as the available motivation. This is because one is expected to appropriately motivate all teams across all levels, such that they work to achieve the desired target.
