Technology has led to extraordinary advancements in healthcare and has given us the capacity to preserve life. Sad to say, in the past few decades health care providers have tried to match their care by reforming Medicine's more religious origins, understanding that until modern technological times spirituality was often associated with Medicine. Such service is intrinsically a religious activity. Helping patients may require allocating time with them, taking their hands, and communicating about what is relevant to them.
