Concept Map Rubric Concept maps are tools for organizing and representing knowledge. In developing a concept map, it is important to begin with a domain of knowledge gained from reading or experience. The next step is to identify the key concepts that apply to this domain. A preliminary map is then constructed building a good hierarchical organization. Any ideas may branch many times to include both closely and distantly related ideas. Arrows may be used to join ideas from different branches. During the development of the concept map, ask the following questions:  How do the parts fit together?  Does it all make sense? Why, or why not?  Is there anything missing, unclear or problematic about the map?  Do all the parts fit together?  Could there be other ways of looking at it?  Is the material true in all cases? (Use and list references to back up your statements)  If something remains unresolved, state why and where the problem may be. It is important to be selective in identifying cross-links and be precise in identifying link words that connect concepts. This demonstrates a good understanding of the relationships between concepts. Poor understanding of the material results in “String Maps”. The criteria for evaluating your concept map follows. Note that maps exceeding the Standard in Ideas and Language/Interconnectedness are weighted higher as it clearly demonstrates an understanding of the domain. At the start of the video, the resuscitation team leader introduces herself to the members and gives everyone a chance to introduce themselves and allocates their roles. The cause of deterioration in the video is the inability of the patient to breathe independently. Also, the patient is experiencing chest pains. The resuscitation team comes in to assist in stabilizing the patient and improve his breathing. The team comprises of group leader, who coordinates the activities by helping the team to understand the medical history of the patient. Besides, there is a group of staff that carries out CPR on the patients. One of the team keeps a record of times administering shock waves and CPR. The time intervals help the team monitor resuscitation activities.
 A member of the team keeps a record of the monitor reading to determine if the patient has a pulse. The medications needed in this case include 1mg of adrenaline and 300mg of amiodarone. Both medications are to help the heart of the patient to beat again on its own. Also, the team administers 500mls of saline. The team leader rules out cases of pre-existing chest and heart problems like hypoxia and pneumothorax after chest examinations. The patient outcome was positive because the resuscitation team coordinated their activities in an orderly manner, which enabled them to avoid any adverse effects. The probable causes of distress include thromboembolism and hypothermia. Both of these conditions are associated with the inability of the patient to breathe and chest pains. The team leader orders for a chest x-ray and a cardiac ultrasound and informs the ICU team and the cardiologist. According to RNAO's BPGs, the best patient teachings for the sick person or the family involve careful planning, which includes involving them in coming up with care-related strategies (Grinspun, Virani & Bajnok, 2001).

The video involves a patient who is paralyzed from an automobile accident. The patient displays symptoms of weakness and fever. He has a catheter in his bladder to aid in urine collection since the patient cannot move. The registered nurse attends to the patient since they play a significant role in patient care procedures. The nurse assesses if the patient is experiencing any pin on his stomach. Since he had the bladder for long, the nurse illustrates that it causes the infection and the pain. The nurse removes the catheter by eliminating the water sample from the balloon to inflate it. She then proceeds to clean the abdomen's opening to ensure that there is no risk for further infection. After inserting a sterile catheter, the nurse collects a urine sample and sends it to the laboratory to test for urinary tract infections (UTI). The results came out positive for UTI.
