The Project Giving Kids (PGK) is a non-profit organization founded in 1971 that helps teach empathy and social responsibility to the younger generation. The organization achieves this by providing technology connecting teens, kids, and families to high quality and age-appropriate volunteer activities. The main focus of PGK is to fight poverty among teens, families, and kids in low-income regions in Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley. However, during these unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization has focused on uniting kids, teens, and families with non-profits organizations, finding ways of helping them and those they serve in the greatest time of need. The organization has been offering six weeks of family-friendly service project ideas to help fill the extra hours of school days during the long durations at home. The professional services offered by PGK are community services, youth development, philanthropy, and charitable giving services (Project Giving Kids, n.d).
The PGK has one office located in Newton and connects with the youths and teens through online platforms.
