Public health programs such as organized events present feasible ways of improving general health in society. There are multiple strategies, for example, the practice of yoga that can be deployed as a strategy of improving public health through a healthy lifestyle. I attended vinyasa style yoga practice led by Jordan Davis Turner at Open Air Square in Franklinton, Columbus, and sponsored by Buckeye Wellness. In light of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the organization of the event to necessary precaution to minimize the possibility of infection through ensuring theta the event is done in an open space, practice hand sanitization, and forbidding accessibility to public restrooms. Other measures included requesting attendees to bring their yoga mats and being advised not to attend if one had a sense of sickness. There was also an option of Facebook as a media platform through which individuals could view yoga training virtually.
Buckeye Wellness is comprised of a team from the College of Nursing at Ohio State University. It constitutes a campus-wide health and wellness initiatives that are aimed at improving the population health well-being. Buckeye Wellness is made up of a team of experts who focus on population health promotion, public health, and physical exercise science. The team's initiatives are credited for flagship programs that create a trail of sustainable e cultures, strategies, principles, priorities, values, and structures that uplift individuals and society’s well-being. The team works in collaboration with the medical center and medical and nursing schools. Furthermore, the health-wellness philosophical that underpin the organization practices are deeply rooted in evidence and measurable data and being supported by emerging innovations in healthcare.
