Coding Compliance and Implementation of Five Components

Assessment Directions:
Imagine that you work as a coding supervisor at the University Medical Clinic. One part of your clinic’s coding compliance plan is to ensure all clinic staff are educated monthly on fraud, abuse, and the compliance plan. The physicians for whom you work have asked you to create a plan to ensure monthly trainings to comply with the clinic’s coding compliance plan. You are asked to submit your training plan on how you will accomplish this.
Your training plan must include the following two parts:
1. A memo to your coding and billing staff that accomplishes the following:
a. Announces the training plan
b. Provides an overview of the seven components of an effective coding compliance plan
c. Provides an explanation of the benefits of a coding compliance plan
d. Persuades staff to attend the monthly training activities
2. A 12-month calendar of educational activities to train the billing and coding staff
You have already completed research and identified three sources(ATTACHED) to use for the Coding Compliance Training Plan.
Follow the steps below to complete this assignment:
1. Consider the information you’ve learned from your research(ATTACHED). Create a 12-month calendar with in-service topics to comply with the clinic’s coding compliance plan. Your calendar should accomplish the following:
a. Identify in-service topics that are relative to fraud, abuse, and the compliance plan.
b. Include a different in-service topic for each month for a total of 12 unique in-service topics.
c. Explanation of the relevancy and importance of each in-service topic.
d. Date, time, location, and topic for each month’s in-service.
2. To ensure your calendar is based on fact and not just your opinion or perspective, you must use information from your three research sources(ATTACHED). You may also use additional credible sources, your current textbook, or any textbooks from other courses as references.
