The caring attributes within the healthcare practice culture include compassion, common humanity, and mindfulness. Compassion involves being sensitive to a patient’s suffering and others within an objective to attempt and alleviate or prevent it. Within healthcare practice, compassion is expressed by sitting while discussing issues with patients, identifying patients’ non-verbal cues, and making eye contact. Common humanity entails the nurse acknowledging shared human experiences, recognizing that humans make mistakes and fail and that all human beings spend imperfect lives. In practicing mindfulness, nurses recognize their patient’s present suffering experiences with balance and clarity, without influencing the storyline concerning their life encounters or negative aspects (McGehee, Germer, & Neff, 2017).
Common humanity and mindfulness attribute significantly influence patients, nurse practitioners, and other medical professionals for a particular rationale.
