Discussion Question 1
Research chemical reactions in healthcare. On the basis of your research, respond to the following:
What is the difference between biochemical, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic chemical reactions?
What is a specific example that exists for each and why might they be important to healthcare professionals?
List a balanced chemical equation for each and explain how it is used in your example above.

Discussion Question 2
Research catalysts and how they work. On the basis of your research, respond to the following:
Identify the two important classes of catalysts and describe the difference between each.
Choose a catalyst that exists in the human body. Explain its importance and how it works.

Discussion Question 1Research chemical reactions in healthcare. On the basis of your research, respond to the following:
What is the difference between biochemical, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic chemical reactions?
Biochemical reactions are naturally acquiring reactions that are mediated by enzymes and occur inside living organisms and their cells. These reactions involve metabolism, where there is a breakdown of molecules or joining the smaller molecules to larger molecules. Pharmaceutical reactions are the interactions of pharmaceutical drugs or medicines within bodies and are useful to determine the effectiveness of medication (McPherson & Pincus, 2016). Drugs interact with molecules and interact with specific receptors. Diagnostic chemical reactions relate to the chemicals that are used in the diagnosis of the human body and tissue.
What is a specific example that exists for each, and why might they be important to healthcare professionals?
An example of a biochemical reaction is Aerobic respiration, which occurs in the lungs. In pharmaceutical reactions- salicylic acid (C7H6O3) interacts with acetic anhydride to form aspirin concentrated aspirin, and a molecule of acetic acid in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid and aspirin is a drug. An example of diagnostic chemical reactions is the use of biopsy to diagnose cancer where radiation is targeted at tissues, and there is a chemical reaction if there is a cancerous tissue
List a balanced chemical equation for each and explain how it is used in your example above.
