Based on the readings, how would you assess causality? What, if any models/criteria/guidelines would you employ?
In causality (relatedness) assessment, there is a focus on evaluating relationships association, cause, plausibility, and the strength of the relationship between variables. Knowledge of the safe and rational prescription of drugs is linked to causality assessment by evaluating beneficial and harmful effects. Rothman & Greenland (2005) highlighted that measuring the strength of a factor’s effect (cause) in epidemiology is reflected in changes in the disease frequency, which helps evaluate the strength of the causal mechanism. The causal effect links the relationship between the variables.
