The Color of Supremacy
The color of supremacy explains the privileges associated with being a white person and that are accessed by the white person in a manner that demeans the efforts and rights of the people of color (Leonardo, 2004). The white domination has evolved over time from when they accessed unearned advantages to a time when they now own the mechanism of creating and advantageous playing field over others. The white people continuously use their domination over others to create instruments that hold the rest of the people their subjects. The cases of white dominion over the people of color reminds the world when a black person was considered to be three-fifths of a person.
Leonardo posits that the whites in the world today ape the activities of the racial era in the way they distance themselves with any chance to mix with others. Intermarriages in some places receive unnecessary condemnation, and that makes it difficult to assume that racism is not alive in some other form. Structural privileges are a creation of the white man in today and these avenues give them an undeserving advantage over their counterparts in all latitudes of life.
There have been efforts to take away all the avenues that demonstrate the supremacy of the white color. However, the films that paint the other colors as subjects and subordinates of the white color and the latter as the hero continue to highlight the inherent supremacy of the white color.
