In the research paper ‘Redirecting the teacher's gaze: Teacher education, youth surveillance and the school-to-prison pipeline’, John and Jason bring out the problem with the schooling system, relative to the roles that the teachers play (Raible & Irizarry, 2010). According to the research paper, the teachers are given roles that are traditionally geared towards discriminating certain students from the minority populations.
