What are some things you must consider when you decide what units you will teach and when (instructional units)?
The physical activities I select to utilize in the curriculum must be suitable for the students and my class’s skill level to promote maximum participation. In addition, I will guarantee that the curriculum is aligned with the learners’ development. This means ensuring that the activities integrated into the curriculum enhance the learners’ physical skills and promote tier development. This is illustrated in the video whereby Des Moines public schools have an integrated technology-driven system that utilizes videos as well as training equipment to engage learners in physical education (DMPSChannel12, 2008). The kit has different items like ladders, balls, and jump ropes, which lead learners to diverse sports skills and enhances their overall physical fitness while developing fundamental physical aptitudes like jumping and running at the same time.
