Implementation and refinement of the lesson plan impacted quality improvement in my practicum setting by providing a systematic appraisal of curriculum offerings. In evaluating student learning capabilities, formative and summative measures were incorporated to establish the efficacy and significance of the lesson plan. Implementation and refinement of this appraisal archetype included consistent reviews of my performance and preceptor insights, as well as congruence to federal, state, and district curriculum standards and subsequent assessments. In addition, the curriculum implementations also emphasized quality improvement through innovation, student learning evaluation, effective execution and refinement and continuous improvement. Moreover, the preceptor strived to regularly offer curriculum options geared at leveraging virtual learning resources’ engagement and interactivity potential. The interactions and critiques from the preceptor were central to balancing enhancements and additional strategies while recognizing students’ needs to demonstrate a wide range of learning approaches and styles (Connections Education LLC, 2018). Overall, refinement intends to guarantee quality improvement regarding student success and the effect of the lesson plan on learner performance.
The community within which the program will be applied significantly impacts curriculum development and the revision process. A needs assessment guarantees that the curriculum would be relevant to the community’s needs and expectations, including its ultimate financial viability. Existing programs typically establish the need for curriculum revision based on recommendations from their accreditation report or consumers. The community significantly influences curriculum revision because it is intended to ensure it serves their health care and wellbeing needs.
