Friendship in early education is a key aspect that has raised various debates, with philosophers arguing it is detrimental while the psychologists insist it is mentally viable for the children to make friends at an early age. Friendship at early age refers to the ability of the preschoolers to share, cooperate and address disagreements collectively (Paulus, 2016). Therefore, friendship in early childhood has a critical impact on the mental status at the early stages of life. The paper addresses the key reasons for all the children being friends in the early education classroom.
Despite the arguments and beliefs that friendship at an early stage of life would be detrimental due to character neutralization, it has key benefits to the children. The major reason why all the children should be friends in early education is for cooperation. At the earlier stage, children have unique characteristics that may jeopardize their engagement in the classroom. For instance, there may be conflicts and disagreements, thus limiting them from cooperating in the class activities. However, whenever they are all friends, collaboration would be possible. Paulus (2016) states that early childhood friends depend on sharing resources and collaboration. Therefore, whenever all the children are friends, engaging them in-class activities would be successful and easy. All the children should be friends in the early education classroom based on the provided evidence. It will make the teacher have an easier task providing assignments and taking them without resistance.
