Benjamin Saxe was born in the slums of San Jose, Costa Rica, and raised by a single mother who was a drug addict. While responding in a podcast, Saxe indicated that he would struggle to take care of himself in the street and look after his mom at four years old (Chapman, 2021). However, Saxe’s struggles with poverty changed when a wealthy family adopted him. He then noticed his gift in creativity and excellent skills in mathematics, which propelled him to join one of the top architecture schools, Rhodes Island School of Design, with the help of his new parents. Benjamin later met his wife Erica, reconnected with his mother, and relocated to London.
While in London, Benjamin got an opportunity to work for the best architecture firm globally, the Rodgers Stick Harbor and Partners. His creativity and hard work prevailed during his time in the firm (Chapman, 2021). He was in charge of designing and delivering three significant projects the company assigned him. He was responsible for designing the New York-based World Trade Center 3 Tower, a high-end infrastructure for Monaco Prince in Montecarlo, and various suburban offices on different continents (Chapman, 2021). He also designed his mother’s house during his projects in school and built it for her later after being employed. Such early progress forged a limitless path that enabled him to conquer his niche.
